Hello, I’m Aliyah!
‘‘Dual Self Portrait’’ , Oil on canvas, 18’’×24’’, 2019
I am a visual storyteller exploring the intersection of faith, personal experience, and imagination. My work begins with the moments that linger — the questions I wrestle with, the emotions I carry, and the quiet ways God meets me in everyday life. Through illustration and visual storytelling, I translate those experiences into metaphorical images that invite reflection and conversation.
Rather than offering answers, I hope my work creates space for curiosity. I believe images have the ability to communicate what words sometimes cannot, allowing us to recognize pieces of our own stories in someone else’s. Each illustration is an invitation to pause, look a little closer, and consider what God might be revealing through ordinary moments.
This map is a record of that journey. Every path represents a season of growth, a lesson learned, or a question that continues to shape both my faith and my creative practice. Wherever you choose to begin, I hope you leave feeling encouraged to explore your own story with the same curiosity, honesty, and hope.
