The Foundation:

This is where the journey begins.

Long before I understood the direction my work would take, I was learning to notice. These pieces were created during my undergrad years at UNCG, when my interests shifted from project to project and every new idea felt like another path to explore. I was contemplating where I fit in the world, what moved me, and what I wanted to say — without knowing how those questions would shape my future.

Today I see this collection as more than beginner work. It’s the foundation beneath everything that came after. Every experiment, every assignment, and every unexpected interest became part of the path that led me here. Looking back, I can see that even when I didn’t know where I was going, I wasn’t wandering without purpose. I was learning to see, to question, and to trust that the journey itself was forming the artist I was becoming.
